Location Guide

We are so lucky on the Northern Beaches to have the most beautiful and varied locations to photograph at. We have vast expansive beaches, beautiful bush areas, amazing parklands and cute harbour beaches. Depending on what type location you are looking for and how far your family can walk, I can suggest some great options for you.

Curl Curl Beach

Curl Curl is one of my favourite beaches to photograph families at and there are so many amazing locations on the beach, from gorgeous sand dunes to amazing rock formations. It's beautiful at sunrise and sunset and I love the wide expansive beach vistas it gives. Parking is normally easy there too.

Freshwater Beach

Freshie beach is my local beach and I love it, it's a lovely location at both sunrise and sunset. Freshwater can get very busy in the summer months, so I normally suggest sunrise in the summer month, but outside of the busy season sunset is beautiful too. There are lovely rocks, sand dunes, and the ocean pool. Parking is easy outside of the peak season and the water is often quiet and safe for kids to have a splash. There is great coffee and breakfast at the local cafes for after a sunrise session.

Collins Beach

Collins beach is a fantastic location for sunset, it's often very quiet and it's a harbour beach so very safe for little ones. It does require a 5 min walk down a bush track with a serious of steps. It offers a variety of backdrops, including the rocks, the beach and the bush track. It's lovely at sunset.

Delwood Beach

Delwood is beautiful location for sunrise, the beach has a variety of backdrops and is an easy location to walk to from the centre of Manly. It's great for little ones to play in the water as it's a harbour beach, it's often much quieter than its neighbouring Fairlight beach.

Bungan Beach

A beautiful quiet beach on the Northern end of the beaches, perfect at sunset.

Chinamans Beach & Park

Chinamans is a gorgeous location for both sunset and sunrise. It has plenty of shade for little ones with he lovely trees in the park. It also has very easy parking. The beach itself is a lovely harbour Beach with rocks to play and trees for some shade.
